The PawNear app collects the following information:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in with Google Sign-In
- Location Information: Approximate location information for lost/found animal posts
- Photos: Animal photos you upload when creating posts
- Post Content: Post titles, descriptions, and comments you create
- Notification Token: Device token to send you notifications
2. How We Use Information
Collected information is used for the following purposes:
- Display lost/found animal posts
- Enable communication between users
- Send notifications about nearby posts
- Provide breed detection feature (Google Gemini AI)
- Ensure app security
3. Information Sharing
Your data is not shared with third parties. However, the app uses the following services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Storage
- Google Maps API: Location display
- Google Gemini AI: Breed detection
- Supabase: Photo storage
These services have their own privacy policies.
4. Data Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on secure servers. Firestore security rules prevent unauthorized access.
5. User Rights
You have the following rights:
- Delete your account and all your data
- Edit/delete posts you created
- Delete your comments
- Deny location permissions
- Turn off notifications
6. Children's Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Child Protection Policy: PawNear enforces a zero-tolerance policy against child abuse or exploitation and reports all user complaints to the relevant authorities.
7. Location Data
Your location information:
- Is only used when creating posts
- Approximate location (city/district level) is recorded
- Not tracked in the background
- You can revoke location permission at any time
8. Cookies and Tracking
The app does not use tracking/cookies other than Firebase Analytics. Analytics data is collected anonymously.
9. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated. Important changes will be notified within the app.
